    This will not change. What you should do is protect the crops, like with fences (wandering traders and llamas cannot jump over fences).

    They can spawn within the fences, though... There isn't really a way to stop them...

    ^Maybe do "/gamerule mobGriefing false" so that they don't affect the tilled blocks, at least while they are around.

    Otherwise, not sure how this would work. Unless their spawning requirements were changed to exclude blocks smaller than 1 full block (like farmland), then they wouldn't spawn within a fenced area of only tilled farmland.

    That's a good point! I didn't realize that mobGriefing works on farmland.
