Basically, if wool can block the sounds of player footsteps, items dropping, etc. from sculk sensors, it would only make sense if wool was also able to prevent, or at least muffle the sounds of redstone components, such as pistons and dispensers firing as well. For example if I were to make an observer clock with a dispenser attached to it, I would hear the dispenser constantly go off, but if I were to surround said observer clock and dispenser with wool, I would not hear the sound of the dispenser, or at least it would be muffled in some way.
