This has been a "feature" for many years, probably since Multiplayer was added, and it's still a thing. It probably only requires to add like 1 line of code and it would fix one of the most annoying problems Minecraft has ever had (even if considered as "working as intended").
When adding a Server IP on the Multiplayer menu, if by accident there's a space at the beginning/end of the IP, that'll count as part of the IP address and will make it impossible to join that server. It's definitely not something huge, however, everyone that I know of who has been playing Minecraft Multiplayer long enough has had this issue (I'm sure even some people at Mojang have found it at some point), and since I can't think of any reason why to not add this, it would probably be a win-win case anyways.
Another reason to automatically remove the spacing on the IP address is that sometimes it can be hard for Server administrators to recommend checking if a player is having trouble joining their server because of how simple the issue is.
Hope you guys understand and make this a thing :D, I'd really appreciate it!
