Fully agree. Also remove the bedrock reporting and banning as well, and also the censoring. Jap, Seriously Mojang? That’s just offensive.

Chat reporting sucks on java, especially when we dont host the servers ourselves, we pay third parties to host our server on cloud servers and we should have control of what features are enabled on our server, I understand this for minecraft partnered servers but for community servers like Hypixel, they have installed a plugin so they dont have to deal with it, remove it.

NO CHAT REPORTING IN GENERAL! ESPECIALLY SINGLE PLAYER BANS! This is a terrible feature that's already being abused on bedrock there are hundreds of false bans per week. It should be removed altogether and replaced by world moderation. You should be able to choose to ban players from your world/server not be banned from your own world/server because a Microsoft shareholder doesn't wanna get sued because you killed a kid in pvp and they broke their family tv.

Yeah! I get they're trying to be more "family friendly", but it's just ruining the game for alot of the players cuz alot of players are teens or older and it's just not making it as fun and kids are going to find out about swear words anyway one way or another. If you don't want your child to learn "innapropriate stuff" don't let them on the internet or anything electronic!

Either they delete this so called "feature" or the game dies. Period. I have watched Minecraft become a global phenomenon since early Alpha, pre-Halloween update, and I swear that I will do everything (legal) within my power to remove streamers and influencers from this game if they don't remove that awful garbage. They're working their way towards a level of real world backlash I don't think they remotely understand.

My Dad owns a Minecraft Server and just because of chat reporting The Server is staying on 1.19 unless 1.20 or any future update has features which give a good reason to move to those versions, but I dont like chat reporting and I think at least make it toggleable, If we go to a 3rd party source to own a server, why should Mojang who dont have anything to do with the server Choose to Moderate our servers and just force it on us. Players have Handled Chat Moderation on servers since servers could exist just fine. Why should Mojang step in and do it for us if we dont need it. If anything it might make some sense if the platform we host our servers on Moderated our chat because they host the servers. Not Mojang though.

Chat reporting or moderation in general should NOT be in the Java version of minecraft, especially for private servers. Private server owners should be able to decide what is or isn't allowed on their server, and can enforce it through mods if they so choose.

The reporting function is definitely going to be abused by disgruntled hackers who have been banned from specific private servers, and the selling of hacked accounts is only going to be more profitable since it now gives bad actors a way to essentially DDoS any player they want to target.

As long as this system is in place, I will never upgrade to 1.19, and will warn others against doing so as well.

I don't play multiplayer, but I will absolutely delete minecraft if this is implemented. Microsoft/Mojang have 0 right to moderate any private conversations. Illegal chats are already illegal and those such reported should be investigated and handled. But "hate speech" is relative and thus allows for unfair and false bans. It would work better to keep those with soft skin safer through being able to disable chats/mute players, etc.

This will destroy minecraft and start wars mojang is not ready for on anarchy servers. How long until enough people are banned from minecraft, enough realms are cancelled because of false bans, before mojang looses enough money to eventually remove the system and reverse all bans? My guess is far too late for Minecraft's future.
