snow golems change lava into magma when they step on it

in the nether snow golems are not worth bringing in and the oceans of lava are hard to get past if you do not have the blocks. 

i would like to see lava turn into magma when a snow golem steps on it (of course the snow golem would have to take some damage) and the snow golem would just walk along the lava like how it would in the overworld (except the snowman could possibly die) but to prevent it from dying the player should put powdered snow on it (like how they would tame a wolf or shear a sheep)
