    Please remove this feature
Its redundant at best as most non-mojang servers have moderators that ban who they feel arent good for that server's community

please stay out of minecraft mojang

"If you do have any additional thoughts and feedback on player chat reporting then let us know below in the comments."

Mojang you've just lost the trust of being an involved and legendary company by implementing this feature and pretending to read feedback when you clearly aren't. Backpedalling and removing the feature might help you a bit but i'm afraid the damage has allready been done to a good reputation that has been going strong for years.

What a terrible idea. Microsoft should not invade third party servers. It’s not going to be fun false banned all the time.

    Please don't add this.
It will ruin the experience of multiplayer.

My post yesterday regarding this issue contained some key words that I knew would trigger bots.  It was respectful and spoke to the point, did not use profanity, and was not insulting.  I knew* that your technology would flag it.  Therefore others cannot even see what I wrote.

If a benign post criticizing - in a respectful way - this overreaching chat policy (like the one I posted yesterday) is deemed to be inappropriate...  then this experiment on your part will fail miserably.

It seems more like you want to ban people from talking about ideas on your servers.  Or perhaps you are pushing an ideological point of view?  This is not needed nor wanted.  It is actually quite Orwellian.

It's a terrible feature. No one wants this so why do you still try to put it in?

The reporting system could be a very good idea, but there are a lot of holes in this "idea". At a minimum, you should add the ability to disable this system for server owners, as well as disable the global ban list. Also, before entering the multiplayer, the game already has a disclaimer, so you completely disclaim all responsibility for the game chat,
why do we need a system of reports, especially in such poor quality?

I do not think this feature will contribute in a positive way to this game's playerbase. For the past decade server moderation has been handled server-side on an individual basis. What troubles me the most is the lack of ability to appeal such bans in the spirit of preventing 'false negative' reports.

This is a game ultimately about creativity, exploration and free expression to build the world you want. It is this game's community that has kept it strong. From the beginning, this game has been about allowing for flexibility to modify the game, customize it with texture packs. Please listen to us. We do not want this. This does not give us the flexibility we want.

The Player Chat Reporting feature should be removed entirely. As a paying customer I do not want such features in my game. Such over-reaching and broad powers are not welcome. I trust the staff of the servers I visit to keep folks in line in accordance to the rules of the server, not the broad rulings of a board of investigators from Microsoft or Minecraft. The Player Chat Reporting Feature should be removed entirely.

This feature might actually end Minecraft's popularity. If you do not get rid of it, too many Minecrafters get banned unfairly, people will quit playing their worlds, servers would be ghost towns, and the beautiful game of Minecraft would be ruined!

Chat reporting in Minecraft is absurd and would have a negative impact on the community, ultimately leading to back lash and, a decline in sales. If so and to put forth this update and implement it into Minecraft, then a downfall shall occur, and players will stop playing the game. With that said and with now peace of mind I hope intelligence will arise and a positive decision will be made and if not, then the end of our childhood game.

On a serious note, you have no way to know the context and person behind every screen. Slurs can and often are reclaimed and used in-offensively between minority groups. Server by server or we're not updating. Ever.

I'm starting to think that microsoft is completely crazy. It's as if the only reason they're doing this is because it'll add more 0s to their bank accounts because of compliance with child safety regulations. You can do this to bedrock edition, in fact, you already have. But not Java, we will not stand with this and we will protest against it. We'll make mods to send chat through private 3rd party servers, where your greedy little grubby hands can't see them.

I have never felt more unsafe playing Minecraft than after Mojang implemented chat reporting. We as players have experience with this in other games, specifically we have experience with how easily report systems are abused, and how ineffective centralised moderation is. I fear being wrongfully banned every time I log into a server, even small ones with close friends. There is no reason to have this feature, it will only makes Minecraft's community more paranoid and toxic. Please remove chat reporting immediately.

    1. More clarity on bans -  Getting banned is not fun but not understanding why is worse. A little pop up in the game with the ban reason and the specific words that were reviewed would be great. It would help any true bans understand their actions and any false bans to explain their situation. Also adding  more clarity to bans on bedrock edition.
    1. More information about server - For example if there is a server for adults that should be communicated with the chat reporting team. It could help provide more context and help to understand that they might behave/talk differently than young children.
    1. Limit of bans per day - Many bots will probably spam reports and will cause a lot of headaches. Limiting the bans per day might solve this issue. Although a better solution could be community bans. In other games someone gets banned/kicked if everyone agrees. What if there was a ban suggestion for a particular person and you could choose to ignore it or provide your side of the story on a particular chat message that the creator of the community report selected. This would help improve false bans and improve context although this wouldn’t be effective for small servers. It would also allow for the one being reported to provide their side of the story before getting banned then having to fill out a form.

I feel like we all need to chill out and take a few deep breaths. This is only to protect Minecraft’s large young audience but it is still ok to feel angry about this change.

Just can the feature, noone asked for it, and noone wants it except the loud minority of parents that don't want to parent their children properly. There's a reason the ESRB doesn't rate online play.

I will not be updating my server to 1.19.1 unless there is a way for this to be disabled as many server operators like myself have been capable of moderating our own servers and would like to keep our communities this way. Please remove this feature as each server has its own unique community that should not be controlled by someone that has no idea what a server is about. We want features. Not to be running the risk of being banned by playing on an anarchy server. Add more features to the game instead of making it more disabled!

Microsoft. If you have spent at least 1 minute looking at these and actually reading them, then you could use your two corporate braincells (that barely count as braincells) and maybe never do this kind of garbage again.

Mojang (or more likely Microsoft) listen to your darn communities! Do you really think it's a wise business decision to do this? Look at the feedback from the community and tell me. Honestly this is starting to look more like Microsoft who is ruining everything and NOT Mojang.

this is disgusting Microsoft; players shouldn't have to fear of getting banned because something they said got taken out of context. I wish Mojang still owned the company, they would've done a lot better.

It is very telling of the direction minecraft is taking that this feature was implemented without creating more tools for the moderators that were already doing this job at their servers and without an opt out option

This feature is terrible for both Bedrock and Java. It's already being abused, and there are an unreasonable amount of false bans issued weekly. It should be the choice of the world/server/realm owner who gets banned from THEIR world/server/realm. Nobody should be able to issue a ban from EVERY SERVER AND MULTIPLAYER WORLD. Nobody wanted this but Microsoft shareholders and we know it. Nobody, but them want it now. If you don't remove it or completely overhaul it you will lose the entire fanbase.
