Repeater usage on powered rails

I've heard people talk about how minecarts simply don't have enough speed on flat ground and that sprint-running is almost just as fast, not to mention how powered rails are very expensive to make especially in the early game.

So many of said people have suggested making the normal minecart speed faster or just making powered rails more powerful. I liked the idea of this however I also understand changing this might mess up a lot of minecart-related farms that have already been built.

So my suggestion is to make it so that repeaters can change the power of powered rails by changing the tick on the repeater when it is powering the rail. It can for example be so that 2 ticks is the normal power, if you change it to 1 tick the power becomes less powerful. 3 ticks make it more powerful than normal (in the sense that it pushes the minecart faster) and 4 ticks make it the most powerful.

Not using a repeater on a powered rail just means it's the same push-power as it's always been.

I feel as if this feature could make things like roller coasters even more interesting since you can constantly change the speed of it, it can also give more possibilities in minecart-related farms.
