Please, Microsoft and Mojang, do not implement chat reports as they are now. I understand the intent behind them, and it would be one thing to implement them on Realms, but they should not be global across ALL servers.

Java servers are community run and personal, unlike partnered Bedrock servers. The owners of these servers deserve to have control over the content and community culture over their own servers.

If you want to implement chat reporting on Realms, fine, sure. If you want to offer a toggleable option for community servers to enable chat reporting if they want it, sure, sounds great. Profanity filters are toggleable, why shouldn't chat reporting be?

Many adults use Minecraft for servers that are for other mature players. These servers may not always be the same kind of content as the kind that needs to be regulated to be family friendly and that's okay. It's part of the wonder that is Minecraft, that we can have both environments in one game.

Please preserve the spirit of the game that has always existed. The players, the community, everyone who loves this game, we all need this.

This ended horribly in bedrock, don't do it in Java, please

The responsibility for players belongs to the server owner, you can ban players from your realms, but not from multiplayer or single player. The same goes for censoring.

The chat moderation is a dum feature
I can get ban for saying stuff to my friends
    In my own private server?!?
The worst thing is they are doing same mistake
They did in Minecraft bedrock I suffered this problem with my old account where I got banned forsay to my friend " I will kill you this time " In my world and because I don't had any idea how to Ask for help in this situation

I created a new account and lost all the Achievement
Please don't bring this to Java and plz remove it form bedrock
There are many mass reporting discord groups
Who will ban anyone popular they see in there lobby.
I can all ready see it being exploited
and trollers now can mass report you
For saying things which is normal for u.
cursing is normal for me and my friend and no moderater will understand that
This is the exact reason people hate twice ban system

Private servers should be allowed to choose whether or not they wish to use the chat reporting feature. Even ignoring the rules themselves, and the false reports the system will inevitably lead to, these changes will negatively impact the community. Forcing private servers to adhere to outside rules is nonsensical. The idea of a game company policing what adults have to say to each other on a private server is a violation of our privacy. Minecraft has always been shaped by the community and the complete freedom, modding, and private servers are what draw so many people to the game. I have been playing for over a decade now, and I think many people in my generation think of Minecraft not as a simple game but as a virtual world and a community we grew up in. This update goes against the freedom Minecraft stands for. Even though the chat report system can be circumvented with mods, it has no place in the vanilla game either. Don't ruin this beautiful game.

If chat reporting is implemented multiplayer will take a massive hit in popularity.
You are forcing server owners to choose between staying on 1.18, or having they, and their community at the mercy of a context blind moderation bot.

This “feature” will harm the community that has adored this game for the past 12+ years

Does Microsoft moderation even care about us Minecraft Java and bedrock players… they probably just want are money from buying the game they don’t even care if we get false reported because have “better” stuff to worry about.. smh Minecraft was way better before Microsoft bought it knowing we don’t have to worry about getting FALSELY banned for no reason and will actually give a good and clear respond to why we did get banned instead of leaving us in the dark.. chat reporting is nothing but a bad idea but who even cares it’s not like you will listen anyway and don’t care if we get falsely banned we’re just wasting our money buying Minecraft then. Hope your happy for what your doing to people especially young players who first got into Minecraft and people bullying them and reporting them just to get rid of them and get them falsely permanently banned . Some people you are and as for me I don’t feel safe that’s why I rather use discord to talk with friends when playing online or multiplayer servers because I feel safer that way and don’t have to worry about losing my account that I had for a few years

Can you please make it so public have to have the chat report but private servers are giving the choice to allow player chat reporting because some servers are privately owned and people just want to mess around in whatever way they want to and wouldn't want to have be in fear that what their saying as a joke or just for harmless fun may permanently ban them.

Games with no rules, that's what I heard in the Minecraft trailer 10 years ago.
With doing this, you're destroying your player base Microsoft.

this is one of the worst ideas you've ever had.

you have no saying in moderation of our private servers! just imagine a car company taking your car away because you went over speed limit on your friend's race track

I don't believe that this feature will solve anything in java. This reporting will most likely result in false bans and a complete downfall in Minecraft's player base simply because the risk of playing online will not be worth the risk.

As a server owner myself, it's important for me that I can shape my server the way I want it to be. This feature is a perfect example of Microsoft changing the game that we love into something we will play in fear of losing our worlds and the reason we've been playing this game since the start.

This would completely destroy famous and long-lasting anarchy servers such as 2b2t.

I urge Microsoft to reconsider implementing this feature in java. I blame nothing on the Mojang team and only on the power-hungry fools at Microsoft. This feature is simply disgusting.

I play Minecraft with ADULTS not kids. When we have an issue with a player we take care of it. We do not need nor want your help. I read you use well trained moderators to handle banning. No you don't. No one here believes that. The system is mostly automated and automatic systems suck at this sort of thing. Even well trained moderators mess up. You lack the context and knowledge of what is happening. You have no idea what kind of server it is, and what is and isn't allowed.

If a player is chasing me and types "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU IDIOT" and over, that person should not get banned. We are having fun. Insert any word you like for IDIOT and it is still the same.

Any system that takes weeks to get unbanned is deeply flawed. If I can't get unbanned in 24 to 48 hours and go back to enjoying my game than you have a piss poor system. Why should us players suffer from your incompetence?

You have implemented a system no one needs nor wants. If parents have a problem with their kids joining servers they shouldn't, that is on the parents. Why not have a setting that parents can set that only allows kids to log into kid friendly servers that have been vetted by your professional moderators. Underage children can only choose from a white list of servers. Those servers can be part of the moderating system. Problem solved.

Just admit you messed up, remove the feature, and let's get back to playing the game we love.

Remove the global ban on third party and singleplayer worlds, or atleast give us an option to do that, we were the one that hosted the singleplayer/multiplayer worlds, we should've had the option to disable this, or atleast just intergrate it to the server software so the operators/admins of the server (not microsoft admins) can take a look at it and take action based on the context, theres already way too much false bans in the past few month

Dear Mojang, We the Community know it isn't your choice to add this chat reporting feature, this is the choice from up the top at Microsoft isn't it, But still you need to hear our feedback on it, and Lucky for you we have All Unanimously come to an agreement. In the nieces and most humblest way we can say, Remove This Godforsaken Piece of utter trash out of Our game.

    The Community

    xoxo

Please remove the chat filter for java multiplayer, it doesnt make sense to have this for Private servers, if we want to have them we should be able to either turn then on in our server proporties or we just add plugins, like all the other years, it worked untul now why add this useless feature

Please remove chat reports. Microsoft should have no rights interfering like that, inside closed, private servers. It might be the end of the free talk for us players. Banning unilaterally should be up to the host, not a giga company like Microsoft. Please remove it and never spoke of it ever again.
