Allay Pathfinding to Player Needs Improvement

I am playing in a Large Biomes World, so I have to travel long distances to get allays. At one point, I had 8, now I only have four because they keep getting stuck behind things like trees etc. I am not moving fast, and I check frequently to make sure they are all there, but I keep losing them. Also, I should not have to lead them when the point of them is to follow. Hopefully this can be addressed :)

(And I am pretty sure they didn't die. For one, I never heard them dying; and two, they are supposed to regenerate their health. Furthermore, I definitely lost one stuck behind a villager house--which I had to go back for--and another in a forest that I could not find.)
