Currently, wardens are not able to detect vibrations while it's in the emerging animation. This means that you can simply run away while it's in the animation, or you can dig a hole under it and make it stuck without it detecting the blocks being broken. The solution to this is simple, once it reaches the part of its animation where both of its arms and its head are visible, it will be able to detect vibrations just as if it was out of the ground, but it will only react once it has finished its animation. If it detected a vibration from a mob or player, its anger level will increase immediately after it received the vibration like normal. If it received enough vibrations while in the animation, it will roar immediately after it has gotten out of the ground.
