color management and more redstone on a singular block

Redstone uses a lot of space now, so you can't really get fancy with making a smart house or at least do some redstone in a small area. So my idea is to add more colors of redstone that you can place on a single block (maybe 3 types of redstone on a block). One way is to actually add new redstone ores but in different varieties, or just give players the possibility to place a redstone dust and color it using dyes, then placing another redstone on the same block, but with other colors. This way, I feel like it would be easier to do redstoning in minecraft, and maybe the big and popular redstone constructions can get even more complex.

There could also be a problem with repeaters, if 3 different redstones go into one repeater. One way around this would be to enabling the ability to place 3 repeaters on a single block (it might look stupid, but effective), or just make the repeater not work until only 1 redstone color is connected to it.
