The Owl is a popular choice for the next mob to be added to the game, but you can’t have a mob without accompanying use. I propose an Owl Perch item that works as a home-base for the feathery creatures. Left clicking on a perch while being followed by a named owl will designate that owl to the perch. You can do this with multiple perches around the world! Now that your owl is attached to point A and B, left clicking on the perch will open a menu showcasing all the perches your owl is attached to. By selecting one of the perch locations (you may name them in an anvil to show different names in the perch menu) the owl will fly to that perch.
Applying either a Book & Quill or Bundle on the owl’s inventory slot(1-3 depending on the owl) will then set the item to that owl.
Basically, you can use owls to send items to your friends, or enemies, bases without having to travel the possibly hundreds (or thousands) of blocks to reach them! To avoid for server overloading, maybe set the maximum amount of perches to 10-15. Enough for server usage!
The owl itself has two variants, snowy and regular. Similar to foxes, when in a snowy environment, the owl will turn white. To get an owl to follow you/tame it, use a fish. Owls are not breedable mobs and are naturally hostile to fish, but will exclusively target tropical fish. I believe this would add much needed sky life and effective item transport into the game.
