Skin packs cross platform

I feel it would be nice to be able to purchase cross platform skin packs and mashups regardless of console, and not have them restricted to only one console or platform. I would really like to buy some Nintendo themed character skin packs and play them on my Xbox. Please make this happen Mojang I know you can do it. Also a Conan the barbarian (Arnold) mashup would be fun and I believe it would fit perfect into Minecraft.
