In recent years, Minecraft has begun adding Biome-specific music with the game. This means, that if you stay in a Biome for long enough, 1 particular song has a guaranteed chance of playing. While this may improve the player experience for some, this is not something everyone likes.
For example, I can only hear "Wending" in Dripstone Caves, Groves, and Jagged Peaks. Why?!
My Suggestion is to add a toggle in settings, allowing music playing locations to be configured through a few options.
These are some of the options and what they may do.
Fully Random : Any song Can Play anywhere
Dimension Dependant: Any Song from each Dimension can play there. Nether Music Cannot play in the Overworld, but Still random within the dimension.
Layer Specific: In the overworld, Music Can play in Layers based on the Players Height Coordinate. Deep Dark (-64 - 0) Caves (1-63) Underwater (Water Only) Overworld, (63 - 100) Mountains (100+)
Biome Specific: Each song is custom and unique to each Major Biome, in All Dimensions.
This could also allow for the possibility of Music being controlled directly by Data Packs / Resource packs. This would allow a huge opportunity for map makers.
