    I think the whole thing with the Warden is that you're supposed to avoid summoning it at all. Even though it has a "docile searching" status, if it is in the world then you have already messed up. Because of this, it makes sense for there to be limited opportunities to distract it away from you, as it gives the player just enough leeway to escape but not enough to get away easily. The bulk of the stealth happens before anything is looking for you.

    I understand this is another big part of raiding ancient cities, but unless you can destroy all catalysts in range of a chest in the exact same tick, there's no way to loot a chest or break a block undetected, and it only takes a catalyst or two before a Warden is summoned.
