Console based MC bedrock - add server dialog

I have played minecraft since the early days and have always hosted a custom server. I still wish to do this to play with my friends on xbox and other platforms using the 'bedrock' version of the game.

On PC bedrock we are afforded the option to add a custom server via ip or address.

On Xbox we are not able to view this menu option, why?

I'd like the ability to join customer servers on the xbox since the game versions are exactly the same. Thre is a github project out there that backdoors the whole process through DNS modifications to the xbox system. Given how unappealing that option is, it would be great to offer this feature.

Please flip the flag in the code to allow consoles to use that menu in the servers tab. Realms is nice, and I'd buy one if i wanted to, but having options is preferred to being strong-armed into realms.

I am sure this sentiment is echoed all over the place.

 

Please add the ability to connect to custom servers!

    yes, it it. there is an app you can get to allow custom servers, and you need to change some internet settings, but an add server button would be a lot easier
