A command that makes XP drop when you die, but not items

Sometimes, I feel like playing a Minecraft survival world, but don't want to have to constantly worry about losing my stuff. However, when I play with Keep Inventory on, I feel that there is no penalty for dying. It would be cool if the Keep Inventory command was changed so that you drop your XP on death, but keep your items when you die. There could also be a command that makes you drop your items on death, but keep your XP (something like "Keep Experience"). It would be nice for something like a semi-casual playthrough.
