Villagers should be able to see danger from farther away

Villagers should be able to see danger from farther away. Because when I have played a zombie will come up to a villager and attack it it will run 5 blocks away from the zombie and then forget about the zombie. So then the zombie can attack it again and eventually the villager will die.
