Addressing the severe architectural constraints of Minecraft’s current resource pack system—which currently relies on restrictive, all-or-nothing global overrides and coarse subpacks that force players into tedious, error-prone manual file manipulation to combine UI, block, mob, and environment elements across conflicting packs, while burdening creators with maintaining countless redundant compatibility patches—this proposal requests that the Minecraft Feedback Team introduce a native, JSON-driven in-game UI system across both Java and Bedrock Editions that empowers users to dynamically toggle asset categories like Blocks, Items, Mobs, Skies, UI, and Sound independently, expands `manifest.json` and `pack.mcmeta` files with advanced parameters to target specific item IDs, block states, entity types, or biomes, and integrates a drag-and-drop category-specific priority layering engine, thereby eliminating cross-pack friction, reducing developer overhead, and providing the community with unprecedented, modular visual and auditory customization seamlessly inside the client.
