Minecraft’s Bedrock subpack system relies on a single linear slider, forcing creators to construct bloated permutation matrices when combining options. Meanwhile, Java Edition lacks native subpack configuration entirely.
Proposed Feature Framework
Upgrade `manifest.json` and `pack.mcmeta` to support a 4-tier subpack architecture with categorized UI controls:
Multi-Layer Stacking (Tiers 1–4): Enable players to configure up to four concurrent subpack layers independently without file conflicts.
Modular UI Controls: Replace the linear slider with dropdown menus and binary toggles across dedicated categories (Blocks, Mobs, Skies, UI, and Behavior Scripts).
Storage & Workflow Efficiency: Eliminate asset duplication across variant permutations, reducing `.mcpack` file sizes and streamlining developer maintenance.
Cross-Platform Parity: Standardize JSON-driven subpack menus natively across Bedrock and Java platforms.
