Dear Minecraft Development Team,
Minecraft: Java Edition is the cornerstone of community modding, but its interface still relies on decade-old design paradigms. Adding an official, toggleable "Bedrock UI" mode both classic and modern in Video/Accessibility Settings brings modern ergonomics and seamless controller support to Java without compromising classic aesthetics.
Core Enhancements:
Instant UI Toggle: Switch globally between "Classic Java", "Bedrock Classic" and "Bedrock Modern" UI across menus, inventories, and HUDs without restarting.
Modern Navigation: Adopt Bedrock's card-based main menu, tabbed crafting layouts, and categorized tile-based settings.
Gamepad & Accessibility Parity: Native focus-based cursor snapping, virtual keyboard integration, background opacity sliders, and high-contrast focus rings for handheld PCs and gamepads.
Engine & Mod Preservation: Expose clean UI layout hooks so modders can target either interface layout while maintaining 100% classic rendering support.
