The current dual-domain setup for the Mojira Bug Tracker is highly confusing, especially for everyday, non-tech-savvy players. Currently, logged-out users see the old legacy UI at bugs.mojang.com, while logging in shifts them to a completely separate layout at report.bugs.mojang.com.
I recently raised a bug report (WEB-8121) regarding this layout mismatch, and a community moderator confirmed that this is technically "working as intended" because of Jira Cloud Service Desk limitations—stating that bugs.mojang.com is kept alive strictly as a public, read-only mirror so people don't have to log in to browse.
While it is great that the old domain allows anyone to quickly view a bug report without needing to log in, forcing a completely different, outdated layout on them is unnecessary. Ironically, Microsoft's own primary websites—and Minecraft.net itself—provide the exact same modern, beautiful UI experience regardless of whether a user is logged in or out.
Because browsers treat these as separate websites, it breaks our browser cookies and creates a frustrating "login loop" when clicking bug report links from Google or wikis. Not to mention, many old bug reports have already been migrated to the new domain/UI, so I doubt it would break anything or introduce more issues, and it would help create a more unified bug-reporting experience.
Please upvote this if you want Mojang to invest in a unified web front-end that brings the modern UI to logged-out public viewers on a single domain!
