The Hummingbird would be a tiny, colorful avian companion spawning in Overworld plains and wetlands. Unlike passive birds, the Hummingbird gives a high-value survival purpose to the Sniffer's Torchflower!
Players can tame wild Hummingbirds by holding a Honey Bottle completely still. Once tamed, planting Torchflowers near your farm plots triggers their unique behavior. Tamed Hummingbirds will drink nectar from the Torchflowers, entering a "Turbo-Pollination" mode where they buzz over your crops at lightning speed, making wheat, carrots, and pumpkins grow 3x faster than normal bees.
The ultimate quality-of-life feature is their Auto-Harvest AI! You can craft a wooden birdhouse and place a chest right next to a Torchflower. By clicking your Hummingbird and then clicking the chest, you link them together. The moment a nearby crop is fully grown, the Hummingbird plucks it with its long beak and flies it straight into the linked chest. If you leave seeds inside the chest, they will automatically re-plant the empty dirt block!
When the harvest chest fills completely to the top, the Hummingbird enters a "Rest State" and flies into its birdhouse to take a nap until the player empties the loot. When they aren't working, they hover playfully near your head or perch on your shoulder. This adds an adorable, redstone-free automation system that fits the cozy, play-for-fun survival style perfectly.
