The End Update: Barren, Not Boring
The End should stay empty and unsettling—that is part of its identity. But after defeating the Ender Dragon and finding an Elytra, there are few reasons to explore it again. I’d love an update that adds variety without turning it into a fantasy dimension full of glowing crystals and overpowered gear. Add three subtle biomes: Chorus Forests with taller, scattered chorus plants; Shattered Islands with more vertical terrain and narrow natural bridges; and End Highlands with cliffs and open plateaus. Improve End Cities with new layouts, broken towers, courtyards and rare variants. Add small ruined outposts and natural cavities inside larger islands. New blocks could stay vanilla-friendly: cracked and chiseled End Stone Bricks, End Stone pillars, more Purpur variants, and a Chorus Wood set for builders. A few small plants and one passive End mob would add life without overcrowding the dimension. Reward exploration with building blocks, banner patterns, pottery sherds, music discs and discoveries—not armor stronger than Netherite. Keep Endermen, Shulkers, Elytra and the Dragon central; just give us reasons to return after the Dragon is defeated. What would you prefer: a subtle update that keeps the End lonely and mysterious, or a bigger overhaul with many new mobs, biomes and bosses?
