Hello Mojang Team!
I want to propose a useful upgrade to the Dispenser mechanics that would open up incredible possibilities for redstone engineers and survival players.
Currently, dispensers can only place liquids (water and lava) or fire solid items as projectiles/drops. It would be amazing if dispensers could place solid, non-falling blocks (such as Obsidian, Cobblestone, Wood, or Iron Blocks) directly in front of them when activated by a redstone signal.
Why this is great for Minecraft:
- Automated Base Repair Systems: This mechanic would finally allow players to build smart, self-healing walls and defense systems. If a creeper explosion or a TNT blast destroys a part of a base, a detector could trigger a dispenser to automatically replace the missing solid block.
- Fair Survival Balance: This wouldn't be overpowered because it requires a lot of resources. The dispenser actually consumes the blocks from its inventory, meaning players still need to mine, craft, and manually refill the dispensers to keep their automated bases running.
- New Redstone Puzzles and Automation: This would expand the depth of automation in technical Minecraft, allowing for new types of bridge-builders, safe blast-chambers, and advanced minigames without relying on commands or third-party mods.
Thank you for considering this feature! It would make defensive building and redstone engineering way more exciting.
