Snow should interact with the world in more interesting ways and make snowy exploration more immersive. Snow Accumulation Snow can accumulate on partial blocks, such as stairs and slabs. Snow can enter covered areas that are open on the sides, such as village wells and spaces beneath trees. Grass can be placed on snow layers, but too many layers gradually freeze the grass and turn it white. Crops are affected by snow. Snow can cover dirt paths, but when it melts, the paths remain dirt paths instead of becoming dirt. Ice Cave Mines New mines generate in the Ice Caves biome. They are built from spruce wood, with cave formations and marks on their walls and floors. The new Snopider mob spawns inside these mines. Snopider A new frozen spider that inflicts the freezing effect. It can stand on brittle ice without falling through it. It is unaffected by powder snow. Frozen Forests Ancient forests that have been frozen for a very long time. Frozen dead trees and fallen logs are scattered across the ground. Different wood types appear depending on the trees that grew there before the forest froze. These forests are not tied to a specific biome. These features would make snowy exploration more immersive and introduce new places and challenges to discover. Part 2 coming soon!
