I had an extremely simple idea to make texture packs way better in Minecraft, possibly for both Bedrock and Java.
The idea is to make it so texture packs can have many more dynamic block variants. Now, if Mojang gave access to tracking of block adjacency in Bedrock, scripts could use it against them, and find information that shouldn't be obtainable.
Mojang doesn't have to give access to any of this data though, all they need to give is access to more textures. To be specific, Mojang should take the code logic that tells stairs, fences, walls, and more to curve when next to this block, and add a texture variant like that for every block next to every block. Now, this sounds extremely lag inducing, having the game constantly calculate all of these possibilities at once, but, there is an extremely simple fix. Add a code switch that checks these 3 things: 1. Is a texture pack being used? If no, end logic. If yes? 2. Does the pack affect any of textures in texture group "X". If no, end logic. If yes? 3. Which of these are affected? Group "A": textures from group "X" being used in the pack. Group "B". Textures from group "X" not used in the pack. Now, take group "A", and plug in a chain of the exact same code logic for each variant, this code logic is private information, Mojang designs all of these keys. The only textures that load into the game is Group "Y" Normal Textures/Variants, And Group "A" Special Variants. The code switch completely eliminates extra data clutter.
