Add collectible in-game guide books that teach Minecraft mechanics through short explanations, illustrations, and examples. Librarian villagers could sell them, and players could find them as loot in naturally generated libraries, such as those in villages and strongholds.
Each subject would have three volumes (I, II, III), progressing from basic to advanced knowledge:
- Book of Enchanting: enchanting tables, bookshelf placement, enchantments, and anvils.
- Book of Brewing: brewing stands, ingredients, and potion modifiers.
- Book of Redstone: signals, components, and more advanced mechanisms.
- Book of Workstations: crafting, smithing, grindstones, looms, cartography tables, and other utility blocks.
Introductory volumes could be more common in villages, while advanced ones could be rarer finds in strongholds or other structures. Every volume should still be useful on its own, and no mechanic would be locked behind obtaining a book.
When placed in a chiseled bookshelf, each guide could display a small symbol for its subject and a Roman numeral (I, II, III) on its spine, making complete sets recognizable and decorative.
This would turn learning into part of exploration, give librarians and libraries more purpose, encourage collecting, and help players understand the game without relying entirely on external wikis, while preserving experimentation and discovery.
