Since the NetherNet protocol was released for Minecraft Bedrock edition servers, it is now possible to host multiple Bedrock servers on a single IP address and use the default port (19132) for each server. Just use a different subdomain for each server, and add virtual hosts for each subdomain that pull the NetherNet info from the corresponding server. No more incrementing port numbers for each server you run.
The same cannot be said about Java Edition however. Sure, there are third party tools such as Velocity that makes this possible, but it’s not the ideal solution since it adds another layer of maintenance when updates release.
If similar concept to NetherNet was released for Java edition servers, you could run multiple Java servers on the same IP address and have them all use port 25565. Obviously each server would have a different gameplay port that is handed off internally, but players would not see this. It would be nice if players did not have to add a port to the end of the domain/subdomain if the port is something other than 25565.
