I am a long-term Minecraft player from mainland China.
NetEase, the official agent for Minecraft China Edition, recently announced the discontinuation of the emerald pricing system for community components. This policy effectively removes the main channel for creators to publish free or low-cost mods. Many volunteer creators will lose the accessible way to share their works, which severely damages the community creation ecosystem built over years.
Besides the component policy change, players have also suffered from long-standing optimization problems in China Edition. Frame drops, memory leaks, rendering bugs and compatibility issues have existed for a long time. Players repeatedly report these performance problems, yet there is little meaningful improvement.
Now many players have a very bad impression of Minecraft, so many people stop playing. At the same time, because some people support the Minecraft:China Edition, it has triggered a sharp contradiction between the players of the community and destroyed the unity of the community.
We sincerely hope Mojang and Microsoft can re-examine the agency operation in mainland China. Players expect better optimization support and a friendly environment for free community mods.
Thank you for your time.
