Following the introduction of the Sniffer, the Archaeology system has the perfect foundation to introduce more vanilla-style "dinosaur" mobs. Instead of adding sci-fi elements, Minecraft can introduce rare, ancient reptilian creatures that fit the game's fantasy lore. How to obtain them:
Players can discover rare Prehistoric Eggs by using the Brush on Suspicious Sand or Suspicious Gravel inside Desert Pyramids, Trail Ruins, or new deep underground Fossil Caves.Mob Ideas:
- The Glider (Pterosaur-style): A small, passive flying reptile found as a fossil egg. Once hatched, it can be fed ancient seeds and will rest on the player's shoulder, giving a temporary slow-falling effect (similar to a chicken/phantom hybrid but friendly).
- The Armor-Back (Ankylosaur-style): A bulky, neutral herbivore that can be bred using ancient plants. When wild, it protects its territory, but when tamed, it can help players break stone blocks faster or carry heavy loads.
This expands the Archaeology loop, rewards underground exploration, and adds amazing new prehistoric variety without breaking the vanilla fantasy aesthetic!
