I personalty think the jukebox update is pretty good, but I have some issues with its mechanics.
- Currently, when a disk is over, the jukebox will replace the next disk with the current disk. I can totally see scenarios where this is the best solution, but in my opinion, the most sensible way to use this feature is to have a dedicated chest with your music disks, where each disk has a dedicated slot. In this scenario, taking the next disk and putting the current disk in the first available slot would be a better option.
- If a disk is manually ejected, it does skip to the next disk, which is nice, but it pops the current disk out like normal. Having the jukebox put the disk back in the chest whether the disk is over or the player manually ejects the disk seems like a more sensible action to me. Most of the time, the player would just put the disk back in the chest anyways, and if they weren't, they probably wouldn't mind taking the extra step of opening the chest every once in a while.
- There isn't a lot of control with this system. It seems to assume that the jukebox would be running constantly, or that the player would break the chest or the jukebox when they wanted the music to stop. Being able to control if disks are playing via redstone somehow would be great.
The post linked below also has some great ideas. Wouldn't solve my problems, but I'd say it's worth checking out.
