In the frosty drop that's coming up, I think the top layer of naturally generated lava; Lavifers, lava pools, lava flowing from a cave wall, should be obsidian, and maybe another block thicker close to the edge of the lava generation. And, if it's a bigger body of lava, the center could remain exposed lava.
