Minecraft 26.3 refuses to launch on my PC, and I'm genuinely fed up with how much time I've wasted trying to fix it.
When I launch the game, Java starts running in the background, but no Minecraft window appears. CPU usage stays around 6%, memory usage fluctuates and eventually stops progressing, and the game remains stuck. The log stops shortly after SDL initializes and Minecraft reports that it is forcing OpenGL after an unexpected shutdown.
My PC has an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT and a Ryzen 7 9700X. Minecraft 1.21.11 launches and works normally on the exact same hardware, but 26.3 fails in both the official Minecraft Launcher and Lunar Client.
I've restarted my PC, reset the game settings, checked the logs, and investigated the Java process using Windows tools. Nothing has fixed the problem.
Players shouldn't have to spend hours troubleshooting just to launch a game, especially when an older version works perfectly on the same computer. I understand that bugs happen, but a version that won't even open a window is an extremely frustrating experience.
Please investigate startup hangs in Minecraft 26.3, particularly the possibility of issues during SDL or graphics initialization on AMD systems. I haven't confirmed the exact cause, but something is clearly going wrong during startup.
I enjoy Minecraft, but this experience has made me give up on playing it for now. Please take these reports seriously and help players understand how to resolve this issue.
