Currently the camel seems bland. But there’s potential. Currently the format for mounts is that each has a unique purpose, which I personally think is flawed. There’s already overlap, why not expand on something that is already sort of lacking just because it’s not completely original? Irl camels are used for transport, as well as hauling items. I think just like the mule, the camel should have a chest. For balancing, this could mean that the chest takes away the 2nd seat in the saddle, which is fine. In addition, camels are always well decorated with carpets, and since llamas (a camel relative) already have this, why not let us deck out our camels the same too? It would add a lot of personality. And despite the mules or donkeys seeming useless after the camel gains these features, nobody really goes out of their way to find a desert save for a few structures and MAYBE to collect a camel for a zoo. Giving them an all-rounder role would encourage their use. Also, you get a donkey or a mule significantly earlier in the game than the camels due to most people settling in a plains or other temperate biome. Camels need style!
