A new piston called the grippy piston could be the solution to making more redstone creations compatible between the 2 editions.
Crafted with honey instead of slime, the grippy piston would behave like the Java sticky piston. While the normal sticky piston would be changed to work like the Bedrock version.
If added, the sticky piston in Java would be retextured and renamed to become the grippy piston. Java would also get a new block, which is just the normal sticky piston, but it works like the Bedrock version. Bedrock would simply just get the new piston.
Many redstone inventions work on only one of the 2 versions because the Java sticky piston releases its block when powered for a single tick, while Bedrock version stays firmly latched on.
A single block is all it takes to fix this problem.
