There needs to be more side quests

I know that I always love taking the time to complete some of the fun side quests when I want to take a break from the main quest or level up and get some new gear. I only wonder why there are not more side quests to do besides re-battling some of the bosses. I wish that there were some more side quests to do, especially from some of the many villages.
