I suggest a new medium-temperature forest biome inspired by Mediterranean vegetation.
Generation and Trees
It should generate near oceans and Dark Forests, but not always directly beside them, as placement would depend on world generation. It would contain six distinct trees: Cypress, Olive, Strawberry, Pistachio, Carob, and Juniper, each with its own shape, canopy, and Sapling.
Wood Sets
Each tree would have a complete wood set: Log, Stripped Log, Wood, Planks, Stairs, Slabs, Fences, Fence Gates, Doors, Trapdoors, Signs, Hanging Signs, Buttons, and Pressure Plates. Their colors would reflect their real-world trees while fitting Minecraft.
Ground and Food
The biome would use Grass Blocks with a natural, slightly olive-green tint, dense vegetation, and occasional clearings. Olives restore 2 hunger points, Strawberries 4, Raw Pistachios 1, Roasted Pistachios 2.5, and Carob 0.5. Cypress and Juniper provide no food.
Wildlife and Structures
Birds and Eagles could spawn in suitable Overworld biomes. Owls would spawn in Mediterranean Forests and Deserts, defending themselves when attacked. Hedgehogs would spawn in Mediterranean Forests. Existing mobs would remain unchanged.
Wilderness abandoned camps could generate among the trees. Mediterranean-style villages could use variants of existing village structures and the new wood sets.
This biome would offer greater forest diversity, new building materials, food, wildlife, and exploration opportunities while creating Mediterranean
