On all of Minecraft's official sites and social medias, players were told that pre-ordering Minecraft Dungeons II would grant the account the Twisted Cape and other pre-order bonuses, however, nothing was said about pre-installing the game through XBOX Game Pass.
The only place where Game Pass was mentioned was on the Minecraft Help Centre, which is a very unhelpful place to put it, as, in this case, you would only go there to see why you didn't get the pre-order bonuses from Game Pass, by which point, it would be too late to pre-order the game, since the only way to check if you got the rewards is to play the game, and you could only do that after the game had come out (it would be no longer available to pre-order), in addition to the fact that the very top of the Minecraft Dungeons II help page only says you have to pre-order the game to get the rewards, without mentioning Game Pass.
Had it been more explicitly clear that Game Pass would not allow you to receive the pre-order bonuses (like putting that information on the actual store page), I, and I'm sure many others, would've properly pre-ordered the game through a direct payment. (it also doesn't help that "pre-install" and "pre-order" are very similarly worded and are similar in meaning)
As a result, I think that all players who pre-installed Minecraft Dungeons II through Game Pass should receive the Minecraft Dungeons II pre-order bonuses as a form of compensation for the lack of clarity.
Any response is appreciated.
