it has been a long while now of the cape dupe exploit existing with no official feedback from the minecraft team, and no patch. i personally reached out myself simply asking if they were aware of the dupe and if there was going to be a patch, and my ticket was instantly closed by one of the employees. as somebody who paid a lot of my own hard earned money on the games with the primary reasoning of obtaining the capes that were supposed to be exclusive, it's a kick in the face that pretty much everybody has them. not only that, but many people are running underground dupe markets where they charge a fee to dupe the capes onto thousands of people's accounts. furthermore this largely reduce's the minecrafts teams credibility and makes players much less willing to support the franchise in the future, considering lack of any visible effort for the player experience. if you guys are going to let all the illegally duped capes stay on peoples accounts then the least you can do is either refund the pre-orders, or award the pre-orders with something else special.
