Environmental Freezing Mechanics in Snowy Biomes and Cold Caves

Cold biomes and cold caves should actually freeze you! Instead of freezing only in Powder Snow, cold places should slowly freeze you if you aren't prepared.

How It Works

  • Cold Places Freeze You: Walking in snowy biomes or deep cold caves slowly makes your screen frost over and deals freeze damage.

  • Wear Leather Armor: Leather Armor keeps you warm so you don't freeze! This makes leather super useful.

  • Use Heat to Stay Alive: Stand near Campfires, Torches, Lanterns, or Lava to melt the ice and warm up.

Why It's Fun It makes exploring snowy mountains and dark caves way more exciting! You actually have to plan ahead, bring torches, wear leather gear, and camp out to survive the cold.

    This is a great idea! Maybe you could even just carry a lantern / torch?

    Maybe change the freezing to have a couple different variants, freezing 1, 2 and 3. Freezing 3 would be what the potion does now, Freezing 2 is what powdered snow gives, and Freezing 1 just makes you slightly slower? This could be negated by wearing an increasing amount of leather armor / light level or something else?

    That would make Minecraft feel more realistic. I love this idea!
