Currently, some of the zombie and skeleton variants can convert into different variants via drowning and freezing. The new frostbite is a part of this system, which drew my attention to some of its inconsistencies. The current zombie conversions are as follows:
If a zombie drowns, it will turn into a drowned.
If a husk or frostbite drowns, it will turn into a zombie.
If a zombie freezes, it will turn into a frostbite.
If a husk freezes, it will turn into a zombie.
However, the same is not true for the analogous skeleton variants, such as the parched or stray. In fact there is only one skeleton conversion in the game, which is that frozen skeletons will become strays. Given the similarities between the zombie-skeleton pairs, one would expect their conversions to work similarly as well.
The drowned and bogged mostly live outside of this network of conversions, and there is also no way to create a husk (or a bogged for that matter).
Additionally, there are some missing mobs that could be extrapolated from this variant system, namely an ocean skeleton and a swamp zombie.
