Minecraft's skies are beautiful both day and night, and the natural phenomena from the skies such as rain, lightning, clouds, snow, are all fantastic.
Often I catch myself looking at the stars in Minecraft's night sky, and I think to myself how cool it would be if, on occasion, there were comets the player could see in their night sky, and maybe they could see it better by using the telescope. Same goes for any celestial body in Minecraft's night sky, the telescope has so much potential.
Furthermore, I would LOVE it if sometimes while digging through naturally generated dirt blocks, the player might stumble upon a new Meteor block or fragment, from an impact long ago in Minecraft's history. These meteor blocks could be made of iron or ice, maybe a rarer ore or block if the player gets lucky! I'd sure love to craft a sword out of meteoric iron like King Tutankhamun!
Maybe in Minecraft's world gen, a player may even rarely find the remains of an impact crater, large or small or somewhere in between. Following suit, there SHOULD also be the occasional meteor impact event that the player can witness. By no means common, it should be rare, but common enough that players might tell their friends "I saw a meteor strike right outside our base!"
You could watch these meteors descend unto the ground and explode, and maybe you could watch them burn up in the atmosphere, if sometimes at night, the sky had a meteor shower event.
I think this would be perfect for the Wilderness Bound drops!
