MCD2 has a critical lack of information exposed to the player. Everyone knows about numbers for equipment not being shown, but there's more. Enemies also have resistances/weaknesses to certain damage types. I learned this the hard way when I fought the Monarch for the first time, using a build that did almost exclusively soul damage: I fought it for 20-30 minutes, and only learned days later that it has a 50% resistance to soul damage. Looking back, I realized some enemies were seemingly taking less damage and the damage popoff number was a darker color, but this needs to be communicated to players.
I also learned from a post on Reddit that different armor pieces have archetypes which change what effects they can have. Effects seem to be what they're steering players towards for minmaxing in this game, so I think it's important that the different possible effects a piece of equipment can have are communicated to the player.
I think that, in addition to adding to the inventory UI any relevant numbers for equipment just as the first game had, it should also show the archetype the gear piece is (and at the Blacksmith you should be able to see all the possible effects each archetype can have) and what damage type or types the item deals if applicable. To show enemy information, a bestiary would make sense, including entries for enemies you've encountered with at minimum information about their damage resistances/weaknesses, even better if it includes damage/debuffs they inflict.
