I think that the game could easily implement a roguelike mode. The core mechanics are already there, plus it would add virtually infinite repeatability to the game.
I'm thinking of something similar to "the tower" from the first game but no longer relying on the weekly reset. Every run should feel brand new and unique - random encounters, random biomes, random bosses, random equipment, random talismans, and enchanting books. Similar to the tower, you get a reward after clearing an encounter; however, this time, some encounters may reward you with an enchanted book and/or a talisman. The books would be automatically applied to a weapon, or weapons could come pre-enchanted, leaning/catered toward a particular build (soul, electric, etc.) and/or play-style (fast and nimble, slow and mighty, etc.). The rewards should encourage experimentation with new builds, while still giving the freedom of choice to the player.
With some tweaks with how the game operates (just in that mode), I believe the game can achieve a really satisfying game loop, similar to games like Hades, Dead Cells, Gungeon, and others from that genre.
Hope the team would consider it or something of that nature <3
