I loved dungeons 1. I played for hundreds of hours. I got it on release and always enjoyed it. Say I was excited when I found out there was going to be a sequel would be an understatement. The new game is not quite what I had hoped it would be. It is fun but there are a few issues.
Firstly, the weapons. Not having stats makes it frustrating to me. I love the new stat menu where I can see all my bonuses but I hate how I cannot see my base weapon stats. Also, the weapons all feel like reskins of one another. I miss how the first game gave each weapon a unique attack style. I feel like there is no point in trying a new weapon except for the buff it provides.
The enchantments are another weak point of this game. I love a lot of the new ones and I still have to unlock 5 of them. I do not like how most of them feel useless. Swirling once again stands out and makes the other enchantments objectively worse. I feel no incentive to try out new enchantments if this one is so broken. Also, most of these enchantments only go off once in the combo. There is no incentive to play with weapons with a long attack combo. Playing anything but the war hammer feels awful to me because the enchantments are so bad for other weapons.
There is not much to do after the story. The game feels too easy in its current state and slightly unfinished. The new story, visuals, and combat feel AMAZING. I just hate how easy the game feels and, because of this, there is no reason to try for better gear.
