Pillagers disappearing, and invulnerable ambush softlock

I was playing a ambush offline, and the pillagers just randomly fade like their corpse was disappearing, and then they still shoot me, arrows still stick to them, their shadow is visible, and damage numbers appear when hit by sculk digger robe effect when reflecting damage. It isn't possible to kill them, and it won't let me pass an ambush. I have only seen this with pillagers.
