Protecting offspring is a natural and essential behavior in the real world, but in Minecraft, peaceful animals simply stand by passively when their babies are attacked. My suggestion for Minecraft Feedback is to rework this mechanic so that any animal—such as chickens, cows, and pigs—will defend their young if a player or another mob tries to hurt them. In the case of chickens, for instance, they become much more aggressive in real life when brooding or caring for their brood, so it makes complete sense for them to peck and charge to ward off any threat until the chicks grow up. Furthermore, it would be amazing if chickens spawned naturally in the world with larger broods around them, reflecting real-life family sizes instead of appearing with just a single chick. This change would make animal behavior much more realistic and dynamic, bringing the game closer to the mechanics already used for mobs like wolves and piglins, which immediately defend members of their group. If a mother in the real world will do anything to protect her young, Minecraft animals should also act as true protectors until their babies reach adulthood.
