The new icicles added in the winter drop were designed to melt when exposed to a nearby light source, but wouldn't it be fun if they also broke when hit by a projectile such as a snowball, an ice ball or an arrow?
Anyone who's ever lived in a place where icicles can naturally form has shot them with a snowball at least once in their life (it's a natural reaction and a fun thing to do, as they are very pretty but also super fragile). If Minecraft's icicles are weak enough to break/melt when a light source is placed nearbly, it's only logical for them to also break when hit by a fast-moving projectile.
Not only would it make ice caves even more perilous and interactive, as frostbites and skeletons could accidentaly hit them when shooting at the player (or vise versa), but it would also open up the possibilities for various minigames (as pointed dripstone can only be broken by tridents).
It would turn a pretty building block into a much more varied and useful mechanic for all of the different type of minecraft players (minigame makers, redstoners, adventurers, etc.)
