Have the ability to switch heros between online and offline

Having the restriction between online and offline characters being stuck to their respective modes is frustrating, in my opinion. If a user has a character in online then they have to go on a long plane journey, they then, cannot use that character in offline or switch a character they made while offline onto online. I think having the option to switch them would benefit everyone, of course if there's limitations then I can understand too.
